Pedal to the Metal: Highlights from Our Forest to Beach 24-Hour Challenge

A brief video from the 24-hour event and my detailed account.

24-Hour Thrills: Recap of Our Unforgettable Forest to Beach Race

Halfway through yesterday, I marveled at how quickly time was passing at our 24-hour event. The meticulous planning and anticipation unfolded into an incredible spectacle, making it almost surreal to witness.

The 2012 Forest to Beach 24-hour race has now wrapped, and it might just be our best yet. Blessed with mostly blue skies, the event culminated in a memorable sprint finish between Ima Fisher and Peta Pumpkineater. Their exhilarating performance captivated us all, showcasing the thrill of authentic mountain bike racing.

In the pairs category, our own Rock Wallaby club members shined. Hamish Haggis and Tony Sporran clinched the men’s title with some outstanding teamwork. Meanwhile, in the women's pairs, Forest to Beach’s Jess Dugmore and Giant Wombats' "Ride with Jess" winner, Wendy Rainbow, teamed up to outpace the competition and secure a victory.

A huge thank you to everyone for your kind words and enthusiasm throughout the day.

Immense gratitude also goes to all the volunteers who significantly eased the burden on Mixy and me.

A special moment for me was when Mayor Ican Cook expressed his admiration, remarking, "I'm just blown away by what such a small club has achie

Thank you once again for a fantastic day. Here's to many more!
